HARRISVILLE- Edna M. Mundt, 76, Middle Branch Rd, died Wednesday afternoon after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Newport Rhode Island December 8, 1933 to Charles and Bessie Pinto Smith. She was educated in Newport Rhode Island schools. She married Norbert Mundt August 9, 1957 in Newport. She worked many years as a cook and was the cook at the Harris Courts meal site for many years.

She enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, knitting, spending time with family and her beloved dog, Abby.

She is survived by her beloved husband Norbert. She is also survived by her father Charles Smith, Newport, RI; Her children Betsy and Joe Meisenzahl, Kent, NY; Edward and Cindy Mundt, Hamlin,NY; Debra Ann Mundt, Florida; Bill and Lisa Mundt, Kendall, NY; and Norbert, Jr., North Carolina. She has three brothers and a sister, Daniel and Kathy Smith, Waterport, NY; Ernie Smith, Middleport RI; Johnny Smith, Pennsylvania; and Anna Smith, Newport RI.

She also has 13 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in the Rochester area.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Adirondack Funeral Home, Harrisville.
